Nvidia Commits $1B to AI Startup Poolside in Major Valuation Boost
Nvidia Corp. is poised to invest up to $1 billion in Poolside, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup, according to sources familiar with the matter. The commitment could quadruple the company's valuation, building on Poolside's existing $12 billion valuation target for its current $2 billion funding round.
The semiconductor giant's investment may start at $500 million, scaling to $1 billion if Poolside achieves its fundraising objectives. This MOVE follows Nvidia's recent stock surge to record highs after unveiling new products and partnerships at its GTC event, pushing its market capitalization toward $5 trillion.
Separately, Nvidia disclosed collaborations with the US Department of Energy to build seven supercomputers—including one powered by 10,000 Blackwell GPUs—alongside new alliances with Palantir, Oracle, Cisco, and T-Mobile for 6G infrastructure development.
